Do you know that the Lord has a sense of humor? I sure do!!!
He has a way of showing me things that I have to smile. I attended my late night prayer meeting on Friday expecting to hear from God. I don't know what I wanted or what I wanted to hear from God....... just something. Can I get a witness!!!!
You know them ones where there is a vacant space, between what God has promised you and when it manifests in the physical. Sometimes we think we need SOMETHING from God, or we need God to do SOMETHING, but the reality and the truth of it is that WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING!!!!!
It could be something so simple and often overlooked that we need to adjust in our lives. On the Thursday I prayed, God help me, God lead me, God guide me, God show me and he sure did.
So the word was YOU DON'T HAVE ANY PATIENCE!!!!! WOW, what a wake up call. I was humbled immediately. There was more to the word but this part specifically stood out to me as obviously it is sooo true. Before I went up for prayer, I looked at my pastor, Dr Ionie Shas, and said to another sister in christ, ' Pastor is sooo patient, I don't have that kind of patience'. So when the Lord spoke those word through my Pastor, I was literally cracking up with laughter inside.
My journey with Christ has been amazing and I am still in awe and will always be in awe of his greatness, his mercies, his love and how he knows me better than I myself. After I received the word from the Lord about receiving songs from heaven, the lord gave me a song called MY DELIVERER. This song is basically about that vacant space between Gods promises and it manifesting in the physical. The first line is, ' Patiently waiting on you'. Now if you don't find this funny then bwoy my sense of humor is just way out there!!!! Because obviously I have not been PATIENTLY waiting on him, as the Lord told me on Friday. Another part of the word on Friday was that my career is already there in the spiritual! Isn't God amazing? Vacant space.......patience! Wow, I went home and as I meditated on this word, I realised that I Literally do not have any patience with ANYTHING. The third line of the song is, ' holding onto your word, because I believe what you say is true' We have to hold on to the word of God and believe his promises for our lives, at all times. And yes the enemy can put negative thoughts in our head, but who are we kidding? Hasn't God come through for us time after time after time? Gods timing is perfect, all we need to do..... all I need to do is have a little patience. I thought I was being patient when I wrote this song, crying out for the Lord to deliver me. In the second verse I even wrote, 'in times of great trials and tribulations, help me perfect my patience!!' Ermmm, I should have seen it coming really, bearing in mind I have sang this song quite a few times! Duh Vocalz..... I asked God to perfect my patience and that is exactly what he is doing!!!
Go on.... laugh... I know you want to, you know you want to! Its OK because its the truth that we know that will set us free! And I definitely feel free after THAT.
So as I looked deeper into this PATIENCE, I came across Colossians 3:12-13
' Since God chose you to be holy people he loves you,you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and PATIENCE. Make allowance for each others faults, and forgive anyone who offends. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others'.
The word of God must be a mirror for us to look into and put ourselves right. From this scripture, I see many things that I still struggle with, but God does love us and we are his chosen holy people. It also shows that these are characteristics that we must PUT ON, hence the word CLOTHE. As we PUT ON CHRIST daily we must also put on tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
For me, it is not always easy. Patience is the biggest one for me, like I said earlier, I am not patient for anything, But now God has brought it to my attention, with his grace I ask for more patience everyday!
In relation to the song, My Deliverer, scripture says that it is through our waiting and patience that the Lord will deliver us.
1 Thessalonians 1:10.
'And to wait for his son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come'
Isn't God amazing? He shows us and gives us the answer to all things in his word.
'And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;and patience, experience; and experience, hope.'
Everything I have gone through, everything, you have gone through, is to test your patience, to give you experience of Gods goodness, his truth, his love and his deliverance! All for the glory of God so you can spread the good news with someone else. So you can evangelise, so you can help somebody in need, so God can promote you, use you, build your character and trust YOU.
I mean, how much do we expect God to be patient with us? ' I know you told me to minister to this person but ill do it next week God,' or ' I know you have called me to minister but I still want to party.'
Sometimes we are filled with so many excuses but still God is patient with us. I know i am guilty of this all the time, so who am I to try and rush God?
Many times the Lord will use my own children to teach me about the relationship we have with each other. He is my heavenly Father, and I am his child. I am always telling my children to wait, and that they need to be patient, that I am getting things ready for them. How similar is that huh? But on the other hand I expect them to do what I say as soon as I say it, because I am their mother. No patience!!!! If only I was that obedient to the Father, I would be able to move mountains, but God makes allowance for my faults.
So dear brothers and sisters, the Lord will deliver you and set you free, for he is a mighty strong tower!!! All you have to do is.................................... have a little patience.
